António Azevedo The Executive MBA
RELENTLESS CONTRIBUTION TO THE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF PROCESSES
António is an Electrotechnical Engineer with 15+ years of experience in industrial process safety & control systems and managing industrial projects & investments.
He's a curious learner leading the industry to become more data-driven to make more targeted and informed decisions.
After graduation, António began working at GALP in the Matosinhos Refinery as a trainee in control systems. Eventually, he evolved into a full-time position in contracts, project and process safety systems management, working alongside multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
António led some groundbreaking projects in the refinery, such as installing fully automated firefighting systems in electrical rooms and a plant control system migration in 2018, managing the whole process from procurement to team management and implementation.
In the wake of the decision to close the Matosinhos Refinery, António was handpicked to help manage the decommissioning and migration activities to the logistics park that ensued. After that, he joined the Digital Transformation team of GALP's Industrial Business Unit to leverage his previous knowledge and drive the company's efforts to be a more data-driven organization.
António believes that the key to a happy and prosperous life resides in a thriving work-life balance. He also enjoys volunteering, such as tutoring 2nd level students with basic economic classes, rehabilitation of projects in the social area and some reforestation after fires.
