João is an enterprising Senior Developer and Team Leader who blends his technical knowledge with business interests to foster ground-breaking solutions.

With a background in software engineering, he's a problem-solver at heart who discovered his passion for management and leading people.

After finishing his Master's thesis project in software engineering in Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS, João was asked to continue developing his project on data collection that allows for early dementia detection, which led to the development of other Fraunhofer projects such as ChefMyself and Gamefoundry.

In 2014, as a Backend Engineer at Semasio, João helped develop the company's online advertisement platform, and his career has sky-rocket over the last eight years. He's currently the Team Leader, closely involved in new projects' architectural decisions and helping prioritize project tasks that the team picks up.

João's highly competitive golf athlete background, playing in several challenging tournaments, acquainted him with dealing with pressure and resilience to failure. He believes that his unique skills and accomplishments set the foundation for his future goal to reach a CTO-type of role.
